Diana Shnaider Advances to Australian Open Third Round

MELBOURNE – Russian tennis star Diana Shnaider, seeded No. 12, secured her spot in the third round of the Australian Open with a straight-sets victory over Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic on Wednesday night at Melbourne Park. Shnaider triumphed 6-4, 7-5 in a hard-fought match.

The 20-year-old Shnaider, ranked No. 13 globally, will next face the winner of the clash between lucky loser Harriet Dart and Croatia’s No. 18 seed, Donna Vekic.
